From Working Professional To Working Parent
Families come in all shapes and sizes and no matter the route to becoming a parent, the internal twists and turns of transition continue way beyond the shelf life of the congratulations cards with their good wishes and cute pictures.
There’s no doubt the transition to becoming a parent is a monumental one in and of itself and then there’s figuring out how to transition back to work! I still remember how daunted I felt when figuring out how I would ever rejoin the professional world of work, be any good and build my career, having been immersed in sleepless nights and weaning dilemmas for months. Like many new parents I was also, without realising it, navigating an identity crisis – figuring out who on earth I was now! I wonder if this experience resonates with you?
As a coach, mother and now a grandmother, I’m on a mission to change things for the better for new parents - new mums and new dads - navigating this tumultuous transition - with my affordable and carefully designed transition coaching package that comes with a twist.
The twist is that as well as providing transition coaching for the new mum or dad in transition, the package also includes coaching support for their respective line manager. Managers hold the key for turning polished parental leave policies on paper into equity in practice and are a vital part of the equation if new parents are to be supported at this pivotal time and retained for the long term too. It’s a win-win-win approach – good for baby – new parent – business.
